Age to women is like Kryptonite to Superman. Kathy Lette

Almost nobody knows this…but…the human eye cannot “see” a wrinkle. What the eye sees is actually the shadow made by the wrinkle.

Many don’t realize it, but there’s more to looking younger than accumulating anti-aging lotions and potions or undergoing cosmetic procedures. The secret lies in the way you present yourself to the outside world. I’m talking about your appearance.

Here are a few tips to help you appear younger:

1.  Proper diet and exercise.  (yes, we all heard it before!) I am not going to bore you here with diet and exercise.  You can research that yourself!  Exercise and a well balanced diet will produce great benefits, as will avoiding alcohol and smoking cigarettes because they will prematurely age the skin.

2. WATER:  Lots of water!!
Drinking extra water each day will help eliminate toxins from your body. These toxins are what disrupt the natural growth and reparation of your skin and hair.
Drinking water will keep your skin and hair hydrated and smooth. For skin, water will raise elasticity and increase blood flow through the capillaries in the skin. For hair, water is the ultimate moisturizer and will promote hair growth.

3. Skin Care: Not matter what you choose a good moisturizer is important.   ALL over!  As soon as you get out of the shower, apply moisturizer on your wet skin from neck to toes...your face moisturizer is a personal preference, but I advise Retinol at least 3xs a week at night.  It is a fact that exposure to ultraviolet light, whether UVA or UVB, that is derived from sunlight, accounts for 90% of the symptoms of premature skin aging.  USE SUNCREEN 7/365!

4. Hair-color it if you are graying.  Use a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner....I also use an overnight treatment on my hair. Hair that is shiny and healthy screams young!

5. Make up-use good quality makeup...not to much, not to little...if you need help, go to a makeup artist or a good quality makeup counter will do your make up and give you tips.  Stay away from heavy eye liner, remember age appropriate!

6.  Dress appropriately...anyone who dresses like they are 16, looks older!!  You can do the trendy clothes, but keep it classic.  Classic clothes are the best .  I like Ann Taylor or Loft (I work at Loft for the clothes discount!) Skinny Jeans? YES, if you pair it with a nice cardigan set and ballet flats (heels if you can). Color jeans?  Hell Yeah!  keep the bottom one color and pair with a printed top!  Skirts? yes, no pantyhose please, but keep it either at or just above the knee.  Maxi dresses and skirts are great.  Don't be afraid of color! Color is your best friend, but make sure you know what color looks good on you! Wear a properly fitted bra or a push up.

7. Keep your brain young!  Train your brain daily.  Do crosswords, sudoku or any brain puzzles.

8.  Have young friends!  All my friends are 10-20 years younger then me!  They are my source of energy and keeping young! of course all your friends need not be young., but have a least a few.

9. Work or volunteer.

10. Keep up with current events.

NEVER EVER EVER....SAY THESE WORDS...."IN MY DAY" OR "WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE" ETC.

Hope this helps you feel and look young!

CONFIDENCE=SEX APPEAL

Ok, so I was doing research on male attraction and found all kinds of conflicting results, play hard to get, don't play hard to get, smile, don't smile, be assertive, be demure...ok what the hell?

But in all of them I found a common link : CONFIDENCE!!. Sex appeal is the biggest attraction of all It might seem like sex appeal is tough to get, but it is actually easier than what you think. Sex appeal is all about confidence. Having in mind that you are a wonderful, intelligent and happy woman.
Those things are sexy!
Work on your confidence fast. The more you believe in yourself, the more confident you will be. Confidence translates into passion, and that thrills him like nothing else!

So how do you get confidence?

Be Positive, even if you don't feel the same way. Avoid self-pity, or the pity and sympathy of others. Never allow others to make you feel inferior. If you continue to loathe and belittle yourself, others are going to do and believe likewise. Instead, speak positively about yourself, about your future, and about your progress.

Accept compliments gracefully. Don't roll your eyes and say, "Yeah, right," or shrug it off. Take it to heart and respond positively  (Thank you and smile!)

Fake it. Acting confident might actually make you believe it. Pretend you're a completely confident version of you; go through the motions and see how you feel!

Make up tips!

Getting old sucks!  Anyone  who says otherwise  are  either younger then you or are lying.  The Golden Years are anything but!  Being a women and being old is even worse.  Women get the short end of the aging stick.   Women grow old, men are distinguished, women are menopausal, men are assertive, women are fat, men are filling out….What the hell?  While we are on the subject, why do only women seem to suffer from empty nest syndrome? Don’t men have children too?  It takes two (usually) to have children, then why are we the only ones that suffer?

But you don't have to take it!  Confidence is the key and with a little help from your makeup.

Do you have a feature that you feel is the best part of you?  For me it is my green eyes...I play up my eyes and down play the rest...oh I also counterbalance with my lips

Choosing the color of your eye makeup shouldn't be an automatic decision. It's not about wearing the trendiest color or the shade of purple that matches your dress, especially if these colors are wrong for you! If you're looking to best complement your natural coloration and bring out your eyes, picking the perfect eye makeup is an important step.

Your overall look can be pulled together with this simple choice, so it's best to know what colors will give your eyes the most impact. And no, you do NOT want to match your eye color to your eye makeup. Rather, let's learn how to complement your eye color for maximum effect.

Eye Makeup Choices for Brown Eyes If you have brown eyes, you've got the biggest decisions to make. Women with brown eyes can choose from a wide range of colors to play up their eyes. In fact, almost any color will suit those big brown eyes. Stay neutral with champagnes and bronzes, or get more bold with greens, golds, and blues. Brown eyes also go well with shades of beige, peach, coral, copper, pink, pale purples, and even browns! For an evening look, try a smokey eye in grey with plum accents or a vibrant burnt orange color.

Eye Makeup Choice for Blue Eyes You may be disappointed to learn that blue eye makeup is NOT the right choice for blue eyes. But the good news is, there are plenty of colors that really do set blue eyes alight. Look for shades of taupe, gray, violet, purple, deep blue (no periwinkle or sky blue here!), and silver. Brown-toned oranges are especially beautiful on blue eyes, so don't pass up on these shades! The key is to look for colors that will work with your eyes, rather than compete with them--so avoid aquas and ceruleans at all costs.

Eye Makeup Choice for Green Eyes (me) If your green eyes are joined by a pale complexion and freckles, avoid deep or shimmery toned eye shadows. If you've got green eyes and olive-toned skin, you can go with darker colors but should avoid silver and blue. Stick to brown hues with red undertones for the best results. You'll also have luck with beiges, chocolate browns, purples and some pinks. You can accent your eyes with a lighter green tone, but avoid darker, more vibrant greens on those green eyes. That's just too much of a good thing.  I use mostly pink and purple to make my eyes pop....I line with plum or navy blue liner for day but use black at night for my dramatic eyes....I also line the inside rim of my eyes in black.

Eye Makeup Choice for Hazel Eyes (my eyes change with mood and what I am wearing, so I also choose hazel colors) If you thought brown eyes could wear lots of colors, wait until you see how diverse a hazel eye can be! Able to enjoy wearing the widest spectrum of colors, women with hazel eyes need to understand the composition of their multi-colored eyes to best play them up. In general, stay away from blue shadows, which can dull down your hazel eyes. Aside from that, however, almost any shade is fair game! Study your eyes to see if they are more green or brown or gold, then make the right choices based on the guidelines above.

You'll be able to choose from a range of neutral colors like brown, gold, pink, lavendar, plum, khaki, and mocha. Purple is usually the best choice for a dramatic look, as well as warm shades of mocha to offset your green hues. Choose soft pink for a toned down look or make your eyes really pop with a bright shade of teal! The choice is yours!
